MINGORA: Workers and leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged a protest here at the Nishat Chowk on Sunday to demand the release of party founder Imran Khan.

The rally was led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Forests and Environment Fazal Hakeem Khan Yousafzai.

Members of the national and provincial assembly Akhtar Khan, Sohail Sultan, Salimur Rehman, Sultan Rom, Hameedur Rehman, Mohammad Naeem and City Mayor Shahid Ali Khan were there. A large number of PTI workers participated in the protest.

They raised slogans in favour of Imran Khan and Murad Saeed, a former federal minister from Swat.

Addressing the rally, provincial Minister Fazal Hakeem said that Imran Khan and Murad Saeed were patriotic leaders and claimed that cases registered against them were fake.

He demanded the release of Imran Khan and warned of protests in all the major cities of the country if the party founder was not freed at the earliest.
