Religious seminaries are standing hand in hand with Pakistan, and religious seminaries are representing Pakistan positively worldwide.

These views were expressed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl senior leader Maulana Dr Naseeruddin Swati while addressing a ceremony held on the occasion of Pakistan Day at Jamia Islamia Mahmoodia near New Sabzi Mandi in Karachi on Saturday.

On this occasion, appreciation certificates were also distributed among three hundred participants upon completion of a 40-day English language course at Jamia Islamia Mahmoodia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Naseeruddin said that religious seminaries are the guardians of the ideological boundaries of the country, unparalleled welfare institutions, and centres of religious revival.

He said that religious seminaries are honoured to continually nurture a generation that loves and sacrifices for Pakistan. He added that the month of Ramazan is a month of worship, a month that commands physical, verbal, and financial worship. People should strengthen “the fortresses of Islam” by giving Zakat, Fitra, and alms to religious seminaries.

In his address, Sindh JUI Deputy Secretary Information Maulana Samiul Haq Swati said that for the year 1445 AH (2024), the Darul Ifta of Jamia Uloom Al-Islamia, Allama Banuri Town, has set the amount of wheat for Zakat al-Fitr at 300 rupees per person, for dates it is 1,925 rupees, while for raisins, it is set at 3,500 rupees per kilogram for payment of Zakat al-Fitr fin Karachi and its suburbs.

He said religious seminaries are an important need of the time for the survival and revival of Islamic society. The students of religious seminaries dedicate themselves to the dissemination and propagation of religion, he added. Muslims should give their Zakat, Fitra, and alms to religious seminaries, he emphasized.

Cooperating with religious seminaries is a cause of great reward, he said, adding that strengthening religious seminaries financially ensures their survival, and the survival of religious seminaries is the secret of the survival of Islamic society.
