PESHAWAR: Pakistan Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.

In the provincial

capital, the day began with 21-gun salutes, accompanied by special prayers in mosques for the solidarity and integrity of the

country.

Various events including seminars, declamation contests, rallies, and functions were held across the province, with speakers highlighting the significance of Pakistan Day.

In North Waziristan, a function took place at the Governor’s Model School in Miranshah, attended by students, teachers, journalists, police and security officials, and the public. National songs were sung, and speakers shed light on the historical background of the day.

Similarly, in Orakzai, a rally was organised in Ghaljo at the sub-divisional headquarters, led by Upper Orakzai Assistant Commissioner Imtiaz Ali Shah. The rally, attended by students, traders, police personnel, Rescue 1122 workers, security forces, and citizens, emphasised the commitment to sacrifice for the defense and development of Pakistan.

Stringent security measures were in place throughout the event.

A flag-hoisting ceremony commemorating Pakistan Day was held at the Governor’s Cottage at Parachinar, where Deputy Commissioner Kurram, Javed Mehsud, highlighted the sacrifices made by the people for their country and urged further efforts towards national development.

In Lower South Waziristan, a grand function was organised at Government High School, Wana, to mark March 23. Participants from civil society, students, and local journalists joined the event, which also included a function and walk organised by the district administration to celebrate the occasion.
