Senate polls: Tribunal dismisses appeal against Faisal Javed
The lawyer for the petitioner told the one-man tribunal of Justice Shakeel Ahmad that Faisal Javed owned property in Zaida, Swabi
PESHAWAR: The Election Tribunal of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Friday dismissed the appeal against the acceptance of the nomination papers of the Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf leader Faisal Javed Khan and declared him eligible for the Senate elections.
The lawyer for the petitioner told the one-man tribunal of Justice Shakeel Ahmad that Faisal Javed owned property in Zaida, Swabi, which he had not disclosed.
However, the counsel for Faisl Javed disputed the claim saying there was no property in the name of his client which they had also confirmed from the deputy commissioner concerned. The counsel for the Election Commission of Pakistan, Mohsin Kamran, also informed the tribunal that there was no property in the name of Faisal Javed. According to the revenue record, he said, the father of Faisal Javed owned the property.
