8 killed in DI Khan, Charsadda road mishaps

CHARSADDA/ Dera IsmaiI KHAN: Eight persons have lost their lives in two separate road accidents in Charsadda and Dera Ismail Khan and districts, police officials said on Friday.

A collision between a car and a cement-laden truck left four people dead, including a father and his children, while a woman was severely injured near the motorway interchange in Charsadda district.The wounded woman was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar in a critical condition.

The victims, including Rehan Zaib, his two children-five-year-old Ayesha and three-year-old Aishal-and Rehan Zaib’s mother, Pukraj Begum, were en route to Charsadda Hospital for a child’s examination when their car was struck by the speeding truck.

Following the tragic incident, the deceased and injured were promptly taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, Charsadda. Post-mortem examinations were conducted, and the bodies were later handed over to the grieving family.

Meanwhile, Sapna, the injured wife of Rehan Zaib, was later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, for further medical treatment. After the accident, the truck driver and his helper fled the scene.

Six friends were riding two motorcycles at high speed when they collided with each other at Mangal Morh. As a result of the collision, four young men lost their lives on the spot. The deceased were identified as Habib, Rahat, Shahid, and Zainullah, all belonging to the Ustarana tribe.The injured, Fahim, and Farooq, residents of Kadi Shamozai, were shifted to the Civil Hospital.
