PCB evaluates upgradation possibilities at Iqbal Stadium
PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer and Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, visited Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium
LAHORE: A delegation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), led by Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer and Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, visited Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium on Friday.
The visit was part of an initiative prompted by the newly-appointed PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to assess the condition of the stadium and explore opportunities for its upgradation. Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium has not hosted any international, domestic, or franchise league matches since 2008.
This initiative aligns with Chairman Naqvi’s vision to upgrade major stadiums in Pakistan before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Earlier discussions between PCB officials and NESPAK (National Engineering Services of Pakistan) highlighted plans for the immediate upgradation of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Stadium in Karachi, and Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi.
