ALPURI: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Director in Shangla district, Syed Feroz Shah, said on Wednesday that strict was taken against the retailers deducting amounts from BISP beneficiaries.

He told media persons that the BISP was designed for the benefit of the underprivileged people, and any embezzlement or abuse would not be tolerated in it.“In Shangla, more than 50% of eligible people have already received their funds, with the process ongoing for others. Also, the identity cards of over 10 retailers involved in deductions have been blocked and blacklisted, with recoveries made and funds returned to the deserving,” Feroz Shah added.

He called upon the people of Shangla to closely monitor retailers and collaborate with BISP to ensure that the funds allocated by the government reach the deserving people in full. He also urged the beneficiaries to promptly register complaints at the BISP office if any retailer deducts from their funds.
