Drive against illegal immigrants to be accelerated, says Waqar Mehdi
The Afghan nationals illegally residing in Karachi and the rest of Pakistan are being expelled and the government will further speed up the drive against illegal immigrants.
Sindh Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) General Secretary Waqar Mehdi said this on Wednesday while talking to media persons after he visited the residence of martyr Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali who was recently martyred along with service personnel in a terrorist attack in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.
Mehdi was accompanied by PPP MNA from Karachi Asad Alam Niazi. They offered condolences to the father and brother of the martyred army officer.
Mehdi told media persons that the election manifesto of the PPP stood for eradication of the scourge of terrorism in the country as the party would take steps to fulfil this poll campaign promise. He mentioned that up till now 70,000 armed personnel and civilians had lost their lives due to terrorism.
He mentioned that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stood for eliminating terrorism from the country. He added that they were proud of the loyal, patriotic and selfless soldiers like Kashif Ali who never hesitated to sacrificing their lives while fighting terrorists and defending their motherland.
