Karachi: Teenage girl ‘commits suicide’ in Surjani

A teenage girl allegedly committed suicide in the Surjani Town neighbourhood on Wednesday.

The body was found in a house located in Saiful Marri Goth within the jurisdiction of the Surjani Town police station. Rescuers reached the property and transported the casualty to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she was later identified as 15-year-old Khatoon, daughter of Pir Bukhsh.

According to SHO Rao Nazim, the girl apparently committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. He added that the family informed the police that the girl had attempted suicide in the past as well. The body was handed over to the family for burial after the completion of medico-legal formalities at the hospital.
