KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain warned that the MQM had zero tolerance for crimes, criminal and anti-social activities.
He asserted that the MQM is a peaceful political party and does not believe in torture and terror policies, therefore, the people indulging in anti-social activities should either leave their activities or leave the party.
In case anyone is found involved in anti-social activities, the MQM will not file a petition supporting him in the court. While appealing the voters in the NA 246 by-election, Altaf Husain said the people casting their vote would actually be giving vote to their brother Altaf Hussain when casting vote for the MQM candidate.
The MQM leader said this while speaking to hundreds of workers and office-bearers of the patty at the Lal Qila Ground of Azizabad.Altaf while recalling biased behavior of some analysts, columnists and anchorpersons towards the MQM said that a political leader burnt his utility bill on container and announced civil disobedience movement. But the television channels had covered his sit-ins for several months despite the fact masses did not join these protests. Similarly these channels had live telecast lawyers movement for several days but they do not tolerate Altaf Hussain’s one-hour speech, which is very unfortunate.
He said there is no room for criminal elements in the MQM as the party has zero-tolerance for them. The elements that use MQM’s name in criminal activities are become a cause of defamation for the party. If any anti-social element present in the MQM, I appeal to him to leave the party or quit his criminal activities for the sake of Allah.
Altaf directed the MQM office bearers to visit door to door and make contact with masses and seek apology from them if they had committed any mistakes in the past. He also directed the office bearers to solve problems faced by the masses.
