LAHORE: The Punjab government has constituted an inquiry committee on investigating the matter of unauthorised inductions in Services Institute of Medical Sciences/Services Hospital Lahore (SIMS/SHL).
The committee comprises vice-chancellor, convener University of Health Sciences, Lahore, vice-chancellor, member Rawalpindi Medical University, vice-chancellor, member Faisalabad Medical University, and principal, member Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Lahore.
The terms of references of the committee shall examine the reference received from principal, SIMS, to identify the potential circumstances leading to the reported anomaly; to identify if there exists any other anomaly of similar nature in the institution; and to furnish recommendations/ actions to avoid such occurrence in the future.
The committee will furnish its report, within three days positively for further course of action. Pursuant to constitution of a committee by the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Punjab, UHS vice-chancellor has convened meeting of the said committee on Tuesday (today) at the university. The meeting will evaluate the irregular induction of house job private candidates after regular induction.
