‘Prompt relief being provided to masses’

JHANG: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Umair on Sunday said that prompt relief was being provided to the people at their doorstep by strengthening governance in the public departments.

He expressed these views while addressing an open court organised on the premises of the Tehsil Office Shorkot. The ACs and other senior officers of other departments were also present. The DC listened to the complaints of the masses regarding Revenue Department and issued orders for quick disposal. Later, DC Muhammad Umair reached at local revenue office and suspended a patwari for incomplete land record. He warned that the officials involved in misbehaving with the people and creating hurdles in resolving problems would be given serious punishment. He directed the AC to play his monitoring role over the affairs of the municipality to ensure proper cleanliness of all urban areas of Shorkot City. Taking notice of public grievances, the DC also visited he THQ Hospital and inspected different wards and inquired from the patients about the availability of doctors and medicines. He directed the hospital administration to ensure functionality of all machinery round the clock to give relief to the people.

While talking to the media, the DC said that the Nigehban Relief Package and Clean Punjab Programmes were being completed successfully across the district. He shared that above 120,000 food hampers had been distributed among the deserving families at their doorstep and the remaining task would be completed in the next few days.Moreover, on the directions of the DC, under-training AC Maham Wahid visited various price controlling camps for an independent check on the performance of officials deployed there.
