Takhtbhai rain victims given relief cheques

TAKHTBHAI: Under the prime minister’s directive, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and local administration distributed relief cheques worth Rs700,000 each to the rain-affected people here on Friday.

The recent rain-related incidents caused financial and human losses in various areas of Takhtbhai tehsil. Later on, Assistant Commissioner Mahin Hassan, along with the National Disaster Management Authorityofficials, compiled data of the affected people.

A ceremony was held at the assistant commissioner’s office on Friday, attended by former Member Provincial Assembly of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Jamshed Khan Mohmand, Additional Assistant Commissioner Rashid Ali, former nazim Mian Abdul Rahman, and others.

At the event, relief cheques were distributed among 21 affected families. Speaking on the occasion, Jamshed Khan Mohmand stated that calamities are a test from Allah Almighty, and the PMLN government would not leave the affected people alone during this time of trial.
