‘Dist govt ensuring provision of daily use items to masses’
JHANG: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Umair on Thursday claimed that the district administration is actively working on ensuring provision of daily use items to the masses in Ramazan.
Talking to The News, the DC said that during the last 13 days, a total of 15,000 inspections were conducted at various business outlets and Rs 1,000,000 were recovered as a fine besides the registration of three FIRs against those involved in overcharging. He said that in the light of the instructions of the Punjab government, meetings with the local business community were being held to implement controlled prices of commodities.
The district administration was taking strict measures to curb overcharging across the district, the DC claimed. He added that more than 75,000 food hampers had been delivered to the doorstep of the registered deserving families till now under the Nigehban Ramazan Package and the relief activity was in progress smoothly.
Moreover, DC Muhammad Umair being the District Health Authority’s Administrator inspected various sections of the DHQ Hospital and got feedback from the patients about service delivery. MS Dr Sadaf Naqvi briefed the DC about the performance of all sections. The DC directed the MS to ensure free medicines to needy patients and bound the doctors to remain available during morning, evening and night duty hours.
SHELTER HOME: On the directions of the DC, under-training AC Maham Wahid on Thursday visited the Government Shelter Home to review facilities being provided to the residing women and their children. The AC during her visit met with women and children and asked about the facilities being provided to them. The AC discussed security affairs with the administration. She also inquired about the quality of food being provided in the Holy month of Ramazan.
DPO FOR HELPING PEOPLE: DPO Rashid Hidayat on Thursday said that his motive for joining the police force was to help the helpless people.
The main purpose of holding open courts in the far-flung areas in the Holy month of Ramazan was just to give relief to the needy people at their doorstep. He expressed these views while addressing the open court organised at Qadirpur Police Station. During the open court, 13 complainants filed their complaints. DPO Rashid Hidayat also urged the people to remain cool with each other and settle their petty issues with mutual dialogues and avoid litigations to save money and time.
