Directive to improve driving system

LAHORE: Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan has issued orders to improve the driving system and said that all the records should be fully computerised as soon as possible. He issued this direction during his visit to the head office of Punjab Transport Company (PTC) on Monday.

The minister along with Chairman Board of Directors Rais Abbas Zaidi inspected various sectors of Punjab Transport Company. Secretary Dr Javed Ahmed Qazi and other officers were also present on this occasion.

Later, the minister also presided over a meeting where the in-charges of various departments gave a detailed briefing about their working. CEO Farrukh Abbas briefed about the enforcement wing and route permit.

He said that the performance of public transport should be improved in other cities of Punjab, while a modern plan should be adopted to improve the quality of service delivery. Bilal Akbar further said that for better results in office affairs, the staff and officers should be provided all available resources. He emphasised that the information technology would be used and the Punjab government would soon start running eco-friendly electric buses while the promise of public transport facility across Punjab will also be fulfilled.

Mechanism to regulate derma products

Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Kh Imran Nazir has said unregistered and unlicensed derma products have no place in Punjab and the firms involved in the heinous crime will be held accountable.

The minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Derma Concern Companies (APDC) which called on him at the office of Project Management Unit here on Tuesday. The APDC delegation apprised the minister of issues facing the derma industry in respect of sale of unregistered products in the market.

The minister held out assurance to the delegation about early redressal of problems facing the derma industry and said that the registered firms would be extended all-out support and cooperation from the government. The minister said that the health department would formulate its recommendations in collaboration with stakeholders of derma companies to regulate the mechanism of derma products in order to create an investment friendly and healthy environment in the province at all costs. The meeting was attended amongst others by Additional Secretary Drugs Control, DG Drugs Control and Chief Drug Controller.
