ISLAMABAD: Secretary Finance of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Saleem Mandviwalla said the PPP would not be a part of the negotiations with the IMF because if it was not part of the cabinet then in what capacity it should negotiate with the IMF.

“In the past, IMF consulted with other parties that those parties are supporting the government or not, the PPP will support the government,” he said while speaking in a private TV programme.

Mandviwalla said, “Our expenses are high while income is low and the IMF also saying that our expenses are high but not income.

“IMF asking for increase income, increase the tax payers and improve revenue collection,” he said.

Mandviwalla said that the IMF’s demands are not wrong. “The issues of other institutions including PIA have to be resolved to get a good package from the IMF,” he said.
