Tariq Murtaza reelected ITA president for third term

ISLAMABAD: The Annual General Meeting and Election of the Islamabad Tennis Association was held at Islamabad Club, Islamabad. All affiliated units of the Association attended the AGM and Election Meeting.

Tariq Mehmood Murtaza was reelected as President. Tufail Cheema as Secretary and Syed Ahsan Raza Zaidi as Treasurer of Islamabad Tennis.

Fazale Subhan who filed his nomination papers for the President ITA maintained that he had complained that according to government rules no one is eligible to contest the elections for a third time in office.

Arif Qureshi (treasurer Pakistan Tennis Federation) maintained that that restriction is only for federations and not associations.

“I will write to the concerned on the breach of rules. According to my understanding, you cannot contest the election at any level for the third time,” Fazale Subhan said.
