LAHORE:Newly appointed Provincial Minister for Mines and Minerals Sardar Sher Ali Khan Gorchani said that strict action will be taken against illegal mining activities prevalent across the province.
He said this during his first official visit to the Provincial Mines and Minerals Department on Friday. During his visit, Gorchani conducted a comprehensive assessment of all sectors within the department. He received a detailed briefing from the Secretary of Mines and Minerals, Babar Aman Babar, covering various aspects such as foreign investment opportunities, ongoing developmental projects, short and long-term strategic plans, and revenue generation initiatives. Reflecting on the department's progress to date, Gorchani underscored the importance of continued efforts to advance public interests. Gorchani reaffirmed the govet's commitment to upholding principles of fairness, transparency, and meritocracy in the allocation of mining leases. He emphasised the inclusion of the mining sector among the priority sectors recognised by the SIFC.
