‘Rigging has defamed Pakistan worldwide’
LAHORE: Former Advocate General of Punjab Ahmad Awais has alleged that May 9 was Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's plan due to which confrontation took place.
Flanked by PTI leaders, addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Ahmad Awais alleged that rigging in the elections had defamed Pakistan worldwide. He alleged that Election Commission was responsible for rigging in the 2024 polls. He appealed to the establishment to take notice of the prevailing situation.
He said that delay in justice would further damage the repute of the country worldwide. Regarding NA 130, Ahmad Awais said Dr Yasmin Rashid was winning with a margin of 20,000 votes and had secured around 99,000 votes as per the results of 334 polling stations.
To a question, he said Imran Khan had written to IMF to hold election audit. The act of betrayal was committed by PPP in 1990 when after the dismissal of its government, its high command provided the blue print of Pakistan's nuclear programme to USA. After this, USA imposed sanctions on Pakistan, he alleged.
