Woman dead, 13 injured in Wana accident
WANA: A pickup vehicle traveling from Wana to Sanga area of the Shakai Valley in Lower South Waziristan district met an accident on Monday after skidding off on snow, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to 13 others.
Hamza Wazir, a resident of Shakai Valley, stated that the vehicle was heading towards Wana from the Shakai side when it overturned due to snow slipping in the Sara Pal hilly area. He said that all victims belonged to the Wazir Khojalkhel tribe.
The driver, Gul Noor, was also among the injured. The Rescue 1122 team shifted the injured men to the District Headquarters Hospital.Meanwhile, District Headquarters Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Hamad stated that two seriously injured individuals were referred to Dera Ismail Khan for further treatment. Another two were admitted in the surgical ward of DHQ Wana, while 9 others were discharged after administering them first-aid.
