Edibles rates up ahead of Ramazan

LAHORE: Overcharging and inflation are big challenges for the new Punjab government. Prices of all perishable items and edibles are on the rise ahead of Ramazan. The public is adversely affected by bad governance as it has failed to check overcharging and violation of official rate list.

This week price of chicken was reduced by Rs24 per kg, fixed at Rs387-402 per kg, sold at Rs440-470 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs36 per kg, fixed Rs583 per kg, and sold Rs620-1100 per kg. The price of potato soft skin further gained by Rs7 per kg, fixed at Rs50-55 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg, B-grade by Rs8 per lg, fixed at Rs44-48 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs37-405 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs60-70 per kg. The price of onion A-grade further gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, B-grade by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs178-185 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, and C-grade gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs160-165 per kg, sold at sold at Rs180 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade reduced by Rs22 per kg, fixed at Rs103-108 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs95-110 per kg, sold at Rs140-160 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs120 per kg. The price of garlic local was increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs500-520 per kg, sold at Rs600-800 per kg, and Garlic China by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs520-540 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, Garlic Harnai was fixed at Rs365-380 per kg, sold at Rs500 per kg.

The price Ginger Thai increased by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs450-470 per kg, sold at Rs600-800 per kg, Garlic Indonesia reduced by Rs30 per kg, at Rs285-295 per kg, sold Rs500 per kg. Ginger China was fixed at Rs460-480 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg.

Cucumber Farm reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs52-55 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg. Brinjal price was unchanged Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. Biter gourd price increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs330-340 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg.

The price Spinach farm reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs19-20 sold at Rs50-60 per kg, spinach local fixed at Rs30-33 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg. Zucchini farm reduced by Rs12 per kg, fixed at Rs74-78 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg, and Zucchini long at Rs60-64 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. The price of lemon China gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs120-160 per kg.

Pumpkin was reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs135-140 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg. Green chili price A-grade further gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs260-270 per kg, sold at Rs320-400 per kg, B-grade by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, sold at Rs220-240 per kg. Capsicum price was increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs300-320 per kg.

Price of cauliflower was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg, cabbage increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs80-85 per kg, sold Rs100-120 per kg. Carrot Chinese reduced by RS5 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, carrot local gained by Rs8 per kg, fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg. Arum was fixed at Rs155-160 per kg, not sold. Ladyfinger was fixed at Rs172-180 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg.

Turnip was fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs50-80 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) gained by Rs5 per kg, priced fixed at Rs43-45 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.

Pea price was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.

Beetroot was sold at Rs300-320 per kg.

Coriander was sold at Rs20 per bundle.

Beans price was not issued, sold at Rs800 per kg.

Radish was fixed at Rs13-14 per kg, sold at Rs30-40 per kg.

Mogray price was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg.

Saag was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs38-40 per kg, sold at Rs60-70 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs58-310 per kg, sold at Rs200-500 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category fixed at Rs165-170 per dozen, sold at Rs220-240 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs110-115 per dozen, sold at Rs170-180 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs75-80 per dozen, sold at Rs120-140 per dozen.

Dates Irani gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs480-500 per kg, sold at Rs800 to 1200 per kg.

Papaya fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs250-280 per kg.

Grapes toofi gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs450-470 per kg, sold at Rs600-800 per kg.

Pomegranate danaydar fixed at Rs390-405 per kg, sold at Rs500 per kg, Pomegranate khandahri fixed at Rs300-310 per kg, sold at Rs500-600 per kg, Pomegranate bedana fixed at Rs640-660 per kg, sold at Rs1000-1200 per kg.

Guava was fixed at Rs70-145 per kg, sold at Rs130-200 per kg.

Musami was gained by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs75-130 per dozen, sold at Rs200-220 per dozen.

Grapefruit was fixed at Rs17-18 per piece, sold at Rs25-30 per piece.

Sweet potato was fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg.

Kinow was further increase by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs145-290 per dozen, sold at Rs220-500 per dozen.

Strawberry was gained by RS30 per kg, fixed at Rs240-470 per kg, sold at Rs450-700 per kg.

Melon was increased by Rs5 per kg. fixed at Rs100-175 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg.
