Sindh High Court Chief Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi on Saturday administered the oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the Karachi Bar Association.

Among those who took the oath were KBA president Amir Nawaz Warraich, vice president Nasrullah Jalbani, general secretary Akhtiar Ali Channa, joint secretary Jahanzeb Marri, treasurer Rahil Samsam, librarian Sheikh Kashif Amjad and eleven members of the management committee.

Addressing the oath-taking ceremony, the chief justice said that he was well aware of the challenges confronting the bar and that directives had been issued for the resolution of all these issues, including renovation of the bar and provision of books for the library.

CJ Abbasi highlighted the shortage of space in the city’s oldest and largest complex, noting that in the event of any incident, rescue operations faced challenges because of this lack of space. He said that if a suitable space was identified where a building could be constructed, work would commence immediately.

He said he and his fellow judges were always available for the betterment of the bar.
