Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factories Lieutenant General Syed Tahir Hameed Shah has asked the business community to explore prospects of joint ventures in various projects of defence industries operating under the umbrella of the POF.
Briefing a visiting delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, General Shah explained that besides meeting domestic defence needs, the POF exports its products to several countries around the world.
Apprising the delegates about the POF’s policy of importing many parts and equipment to produce finished products, the chairman offered that the POF would welcome local vendors who could supply it with parts and equipment according to the required standards.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Bakhtawari lauded the role of the POF in making the defence of the country stronger. He assured the chairman that the business community was ready to provide all possible support and cooperation to POF in its objectives and goals. He said the ICCI had established a display centre on its premises and was ready to provide space in that facility to POF for displaying its products. He also discussed the prospects of private sector collaboration with the POF on a public-private partnership basis.
