Cop, businessman’s son booked for festive firing
MANSEHRA: Police have booked a cop and the son of a businessman for allegedly resorting to celebratory fire at a recent rally in the Jabori area.
The first information report(FIR), which was lodged by the Nawazabad police station in Baffa-Pakhal tehsil stated Mohammad Rafique, who is a policeman, fired shots into the air during a rally taken out by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s jubilant crowd to celebrate the victory of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz nominee Sardar Shahjehan Yusuf in PK-40 Mansehra-V.
It said the police party escorting the rally attempted to arrest the suspect but he managed to flee after pushing them away. Another case was also lodged by the same police station against Sardar Umar, who is stated to be the son of Sardar Saleem, a businessman, for the festive firing during the same rally. The police started raids to arrest suspects after the registration of an FIR.
