Woman held for trying to abduct minor girl
Police on Sunday thwarted an attempted kidnapping of a minor girl from a public park and arrested a female suspect. The eight-year-old girl was at the Family Model Park, Korangi, with her family when the woman tried to abduct her.
The woman, identified as Aasia, tried to take the minor away, but the Awami Colony police took prompt action and detained the suspect outside the park. According to the girl’s relative, Asif, they had come from the village for leisure and were at the family park when they noticed the girl was missing.
He said they searched for her but could not find her, later discovering that she was at the police station. Police said they have initiated legal proceedings against the suspect and handed over the case to the investigation authorities for further inquiry. The girl has been reunited with her family.
