PTI MNA-elect complains of ECP ‘excesses’
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA)-elect Atif Khan on Monday alleged that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was meeting a step-motherly treatment to his party.
“The ECP is not doing a good to the PTI that is why we looked into legal complications before joining a political party,” he told media on the premises of Peshawar High Court where he had turned up to seek an extension in his protective bail.
He said that there PTI was moving forward carefully to get the reserved seats . “Reserved seats are our right and the party will get them at all costs,” the ex-minister said, adding that they would move court if their rights were denied.
The PTI leader praised the PHC for what he said were the bold decisions to promote democratic norms in the country. He added that the court had given a week’s time to all the departments for provision of details of cases against him and former minister Shahram Tarakai.
Meanwhile, another PTI leader, Senator Faisal Javed, told the media that fake cases had been instituted against him.He said he prayed for an early release PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife from jail soon.
