PTI holds consultation to form govt in KP
The decision was taken at the parliamentary party meeting of the PTI with Ali Amin Gandapur
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday started holding consultations to form its government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and decided to approach the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to get its share of the reserved seats in the provincial assembly.
The decision was taken at the parliamentary party meeting of the PTI with Ali Amin Gandapur, the proposed chief minister, in the chair at the Speaker’s House.
The incumbent Speaker Mushtaq Ghani, Akibullah who was nominated for the slot of speaker, and MPAs-elect attended the meeting. Fazle Haq and Laiq Mohammad, two independent candidates, who announced joining the PTI, were also in attendance.
The PTI also decided to approach the Peshawar High Court today (Monday) to claim its share of the reserved seats in the provincial assembly before forming an alliance with another political party for this purpose. However, in case of failure to get relief from the court, the PTI would consider a deal with Jamaat-e-Islami or any other political party.
The meeting opposed holding talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians for claiming reserved seats in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The MPAs-elect reposed confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur.
The meeting also discussed the matters pertaining to the formation of the government in the province and the possibility of entering into an alliance with another political party to claim the reserved seats. The parliamentary party meeting authorised talks with Jamaat-e-Islami and other political parties.
