7 MPs-elect, including NA-92 winner, join PMLN

Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised their passion and national outlook, underscoring their crucial role in advancing Pakistan’s interests

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has bolstered its position with the acquisition of one more seat in the National Assembly and six additional seats in the Punjab Assembly.

Rashid Akbar Nawani, who secured victory as an independent candidate from NA-92, Bhakkar, has joined the PMLN. Joining him are Ahmad Nawaz Nawani from PP-90, Bhakkar, Amir Inayat Shahani, victorious from PP-92 and 93, Bhakkar, and Rana Abdul Manan, triumphant in PP-272 Muzaffargarh. Additionally, PP-205’s Akbar Hayat Haraj and PP-212’s Asghar Hayat Haraj from Khanewal have also pledged allegiance to the PMLN.

The independent members had a meeting with PMLN Senior Vice-President and nominated Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and they expressed their full confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.

“We have decided to join the PMLN in consultation with the people and supporters of constituencies,” they affirmed.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised their passion and national outlook, underscoring their crucial role in advancing Pakistan’s interests.

She said, “Nawaz Sharif is the force that saved and unified Pakistan from chaos.” She condemned those who propagate chaos, stressing that their agenda only harms Pakistan and its institutions.

“The people of Punjab have entrusted us with a mandate, and we are committed to serving them diligently,” affirmed Maryam Nawaz Sharif, pledging to make Punjab a beacon of development. “If I have to sacrifice my political interests a hundred thousand times to save Pakistan, I will do so without hesitation,” she added.
