Caretaker govt plans austerity steps for next fiscal
Ministry of Finance has sought details from ministries and divisions regarding both approved and vacant posts by April 5
ISLAMABAD: The caretaker government has finalised austerity plan in the light of budgetary proposal as forwarded by the Ministry of Finance for the fiscal year 2024-25.
According to the austerity plan, it has been proposed to ban creation of new vacancies and abolish posts which have been vacant for the last three years. The official sources said that the creation of new vacancies in any ministry or division would be subject to approval of the Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Finance has sought details from ministries and divisions regarding both approved and vacant posts by April 5. Meanwhile, a BP-20 officer of Secretariat Group, Ms Ayesha Siddique who was posted at Civil Services Academy Lahore has been transferred with directions to report at the Establishment Division.
Another BPS-19 officer of Secretariat Group Rana Muhammad Yousuf currently posted as Director at Directorate of Special Education has been appointed as Deputy Secretary at Poverty Alleviation Division. He would be replaced at Directorate of Special Education by Muhammad Salahuddin who is currently OSD at Establishment Division.
