Five individuals, including a woman and two suspected robbers, were wounded in a firing incident in the Landhi neighbourhood on Monday.
According to eyewitnesses, two robbers attempted to rob a car rider. Upon resistance, the robbers fired, injuring the car rider, a female passenger, and a man. The wounded persons included Ahsanullah, Abdul Qayyum, and a 55-year-old woman. They were transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment.
The District Malir police reported that two friends were en route to a bank from home with Rs500,000 in cash. Both friends were counting the money in the car when the dacoits arrived. An exchange of gunfire ensued between the dacoits and citizens, during which two dacoits were injured and fled. Meanwhile, a woman and a passerby man sustained injuries. The whereabouts of the money had yet to be determined.
Subsequently, both dacoits sought refuge at a livestock farm in the Sukkan area and contacted Police Helpline Madadgar 15. During the call, the dacoits presented themselves as ordinary citizens.
However, upon their arrival at the hospital, the previously injured individuals identified the dacoits. The injured dacoits had been apprehended, while the woman's condition was reported to be critical.
