Commonwealth observers praise govt for devising ‘best election plan’
He prayed that whoever formed the government would take the country forward
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Gohar Ejaz Thursday said the polling process remained peaceful in major parts of the country, hoping that the country will resume its journey of development after the election.
Addressing a press conference here with the head of Commonwealth Observer Mission in Islamabad Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Gohar averred that polling was going on peacefully in Islamabad. He said over 600,000 security personnel had been deployed across the country to ensure peaceful polls. He prayed that whoever formed the government would take the country forward.
Expressing his views, Dr Goodluck Jonathan said the Election Commission and the caretaker government had prepared the best election plan. He said the Commonwealth observers inspected several polling stations and observed peaceful conduct of elections.
