NA-97: Humayun Akhtar’s campaign gains momentum
The frequency of his corner meetings, rallies, and public gatherings has rapidly surged
FAISALABAD: In the National Assembly constituency NA-97, the election campaign of Humayun Akhtar Khan, the senior vice president of Istehkam-e-Pakistan, is currently experiencing a surge. With a strong emphasis on regional development and prosperity, he has successfully garnered significant support from a substantial number of voters in the constituency.
Endorsements from key political, social, and religious figures in the area have propelled him to a clear advantage over opposing candidates in the political arena. Notably, his campaign received a major boost with the support of former Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ahsan Riaz Fatiyana from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Furthermore, recent endorsements from Ayesha Rajab Baloch, a former member of the National Assembly from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN), and Sajjada Nasheen Syed Muhammad Shiraz, the incumbent custodian at the Qadri shrine in Darbar Qadir Bakhsh Sharif, have steered the political landscape in his favor.
The frequency of his corner meetings, rallies, and public gatherings has rapidly surged, showcasing a unique momentum. On the other hand, the increasing number of political alliances and enthusiasm among his political associates have further solidified his position.
It appears that Humayun Akhtar Khan, by ending the decades-long dominance of a single family in the constituency, has successfully transitioned into the first phase of his triumph. Analysts attribute his popularity not only to his political experience but also to his affable personality, resonating with people who see in him a promising future for themselves and their children.
The prevailing sentiment among the electorate signals a shift from the historical trend of electing individuals from the same family. Khan’s success is viewed as a potential catalyst for positive change. His promises to improve education, healthcare, and employment opportunities have struck a chord with the locals. Initiatives such as constructing wirehouses for farmers, implementing solar-powered tube wells, providing quality seeds, establishing IT centers for the youth, and creating an economic zone along the motorway have further instilled confidence among the population.
Humayun Akhtar Khan’s success, backed by these strategic moves, has fostered hope among the residents that not only will the constituency progress under his leadership, but they will also have access to improved facilities in education, healthcare, and employment.
In a significant departure from the past, he has shifted the narrative and instilled a belief among the electorate that their votes can shape a better future.
