Interim PM relaxes ban on officials’ foreign visits

All bureaucrats from BPS-17 to BPS-22, who desire to perform Umra, have been exempted from the ban

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has allowed relaxation in ban on foreign visits of bureaucrats which earlier was imposed till the completion of the election process.

According to a notification of the Cabinet Division, all bureaucrats from BPS-17 to BPS-22, who desire to perform Umra, have been exempted from the ban.

Similarly, there would also be no restriction on foreign visits of officers of BPS-17 to BPS-19 who are scheduled to proceed abroad on scholarship programmes.

The prime minister, earlier, had banned private and official visits of bureaucrats till the completion of the election process and formation of new government.

Meanwhile, the caretaker federal government has given an extension to additional charge of Revenue Division secretary held by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Malik Amjad Zubair Tiwana.

The Establishment Division has also issued a notification in this connection.

Malik Amjad Zubair Tiwana is a BPS-21 officer of Inland Revenue Service Group.
