Cabinet approves allowance for doctors of DGK cardiology

LAHORE : The 37th Punjab cabinet meeting, which held under the chair of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, on Wednesday, approved special allowance for the doctors of DG Khan Institute of Cardiology and dissolution of board of directors of the Bank of Punjab.

It sanctioned release of funds to widen the road leading to Bibi Pak Daman shrine and decided that widow of former chief secretary Abdullah Sumbal should be given possession of allotted house at GOR-1 immediately. Re-issuance of Punjab Healthcare Commission (Amended) Ordinance, 2023 and approval of appointment on the posts of presiding officers in Punjab Labour Courts in Sahiwal and Faisalabad were granted along with nomination of presiding officer for District Consumer Court Lahore and constitution of Punjab Wildlife Management Committee. Amendments to Punjab Delegation of Financial Powers Rules, 2016 were approved as well. Provincial ministers, advisers, CS, IGP, Advocate General Punjab and administrative secretaries attended the meeting.

CM reviews security arrangements

The chief minister visited the head office of Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) at Qurban Lines late at night where he chaired an important meeting regarding law and order.

The meeting reviewed security arrangements in connection with the general elections and the CM asserted that every step should be taken to ensure peaceful elections. Free, fair and peaceful holding of the general elections is a national obligation, he said and added that the Punjab police, led by IGP, would, again, fulfil this responsibility amicably, as like the past.

The meeting also reviewed progress of safe city projects in Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi and the CM directed to complete the development schemes without delay as PSCA projects are very important for the safety and security of the people. He also inspected the police apartments project and appreciated the high construction standards.

Inaugurates upgradation project of Bibi Pak Daman shrine

The chief minister inaugurated the upgradation project of Bibi Pak Daman shrine.

The CM announced widening of the entrance of the shrine from the Empress Road. The CM while talking with the media after the inaugurating of the upgradation project, stated that the shrine due to being in the middle of densely populated area, the visitors face difficulty for travelling to the shrine. The entry route of shrine will be widened which is linked with the Empress Road.

A new drainage system has been built in the adjoining area with the shrine. Mohsin Naqvi apprised that work on the extension project of Data Darbar is ongoing swiftly. We pray that before the completion of our tenure, we inaugurate it as well. Everyone will be pleased to witness the design of the extended project of Data Darbar.

CM visits Akhuwat University

The chief minister visited Akhuwat College/University at Mustafabad, Kasur. The founder of Akhuwat Dr Amjad Saqib gave a briefing about the performance of the institution. The CM planted a sapling in its lawn. Addressing the students in the mosque of the Akhuwat College/University, he advised the students that they should contribute to the progress of the country. There are abundant resources in the country and the national economy has strengthened in the past few months.
