Police raid PTI office in Gujrat
Police have registered a case against the arrested individuals for blocking Bhimber Road during their protest
LALAMUSA: Police raided the office of a local PTI leader who is also an independent candidate from PP-31 Gujrat and arrested 18 persons for disrupting public order during a protest.
The arrested individuals include Haider Machhiana, the covering candidate for Mudassar Raza Machhiana, Ali Gujjar, Salim Butt and Ghazanfar Ali. Police have registered a case against the arrested individuals for blocking Bhimber Road during their protest. Police assert that the arrests were made after violation of public order.
Machhiana alleged that as the election campaign gained momentum, his offices were being attacked and vandalized. Machhiana alleged more than 25 of his colleagues had been arrested. According a Geo report, a Pakistani-origin US policeman Zain Cheema is among the arrested persons.
