CM for finishing hospitals upgrade by 31st
CM highlighted that the upgradation work spans an impressive six lakh square feet
LAHORE:Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the upgradation work of Ganga Ram Hospital and Lahore General Hospital late at night.
Upon noticing the sewerage line running through the hospital's verandah, the CM called the Wasa MD, directing the immediate relocation of the line to an alternative site. Emphasising the importance of fostering a green environment, he insisted on the plantation of samplings and landscaping in the vacant hospital space.
He issued a firm directive to ensure the completion of the upgradation work by Jan 31, without any compromise. Recognising the urgency of the situation, particularly in the case of LGH emergency services, he stressed that every moment is crucial, and the deadline must be strictly adhered to.
The CM highlighted that the upgradation work spans an impressive six lakh square feet. He acknowledged the simultaneous commencement of various projects aimed at enhancing the overall condition of the hospitals. Expressing dedication to completing the projects before the stipulated deadline, he underscored the commitment to ensuring public convenience. The CM affirmed his involvement in monitoring the progress of the undertaken tasks, reinforcing his commitment to the successful completion of the hospital upgradation projects.
LDA speeds up work on Bund Road project
In a bid to provide better road network, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) accelerated the construction work on the Controlled Access Corridor Closed Road project.
LDA Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed Tuesday said the project was divided into two packages and work on package I and II was completed by 61 percent and 42 percent, respectively.
Asphalt work on package I was progressing rapidly and NJ barriers were being installed on the ramps, he said adding 6,000 panels of package I have already been installed and all girders have been launched while 4,100 panels of package II were installed and 6,469 panels were ready while all girders have been prepared and launching process was in progress.
Asrar said installation of wall panels of both the packages was going on day and night. Wasa work on dismantling the canal associated with the project was also progressing rapidly. Housing Minister Syed Azfar Ali Nasir also visited the project along with Commissioner and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
During the visit, the minister instructed the contractors of both the packages to speed up the work to achieve the target.
