LAHORE:Punjab Police has updated its 15 police emergency helpline mechanism by issuing e-tag to each call made.

Earlier after each 15 call, the citizen had to visit a nearby police station to lodge a complaint in writing. It was registered in Punjab Police Complaint Management Information System and an e-tag was issued to each complainant. Now the citizens will make a call at police helpline 15 and an e-tag will be issued to it.

The investigation officer will verify the complaint. If it was contrary to facts or bogus, it will be disposed off. Otherwise, after taking action on the e-tagged complaint, an FIR will be registered.
