Acting on a tip-off, Customs officials conducted a raid near the Yusuf Goth bus terminal on Hub River Road, confiscating smuggled goods from 15 trucks. When the team was returning from the raid, smugglers and their associates blocked the road and attacked the officials while attempting to snatch the seized items, police added.

The perpetrators resorted to aerial firing and damaged motorcycles. However, the Customs team escorted by police left safe with the confiscated goods. No casualty was reported. An FIR of the incident was lodged at the Saeedabad police station on the complaint of Customs officials. Police were searching for the culprits involved in the incident and further investigation was underway.
