Islamabad:The election campaign is yet to take full momentum in the federal capital but the candidates from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) are actively approaching their voters in three constituencies of rural and urban areas.

The JI candidate from NA-46 Mian Muhammad Aslam, traders leader Muhammad Kashif Chaudhry from NA-47, and Malik Abdul Aziz NA-48 who were awarded tickets by JI well before the announcement of the election schedule are holding door-to-door campaigns besides organising corner meetings on daily basis.

Ex-MNA Mian Muhammad Aslam who is also the party's central naib ameer submitted the party ticket given to him by JI at the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday. Talking to the media on the occasion, Mian Aslam said that he had already identified some basic problems being faced by residents of his constituency.

He pointed out that the number one problem of NA-46 was the shortage of water even though it also includes posh areas of his constituency. "I will provide a permanent solution to the long-standing problem," he said.

He said that there was also a shortage of educational institutions like colleges and universities in his constituency and parents had to opt for private institutions. He said that it was also surprising to note that there was no government hospital in NA-46. "Not only that I will press for expediting work on construction of a hospital in sector G-11 but there will also be eight Basic Health Units (BHUs) in the area," he said.
