Waziristan traders seek compensation

MIRANSHAH: The traders and shopkeepers on Monday urged the government to provide compensation for the shops and buildings demolished during the Zarb-e-Azb operation in Miranshah in North Waziristan tribal district.
Speaking at a press conference, traders’ leader Sanaullah along with other businessmen and shopkeepers said that the government had paid compensation to other traders for their losses but the Miranshah Bazaar traders had not been helped.
They said that they had lost everything, including their businesses in the operation and their families were now faced with great hardships.The traders said that they would block Bannu-Miranshah road, boycott upcoming general elections if the government did not pay them compensation by January 15.
