Pervez Khattak irked by pre-polling rigging charges
PESHAWAR: Rejecting the charges leveled against him by his opponents, Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTIP) Chairman Pervez Khattak said on Thursday those alleging pre-poll rigging were trying to run away from general elections.
“Such politicians are spent forces who did nothing for the welfare of the masses while in power. It is time for people to reject such elements in the general elections,” he said while addressing a public meeting in the Tarkhel area of the Nowshera district.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUIF) leader Jan Mast announced joining the PTIP along with his family members and supporters on the occasion. It may be mentioned here that representatives of various political parties had recently held a press conference accusing Pervez Khattak of influencing the government officials to get benefits in the upcoming general elections. They had termed his actions as pre-poll rigging.
Responding to the allegations, the PTIP chief said the political parties which had engaged in mantra of pre-poll rigging feared a defeat in the ballot for their past poor performance. He said JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PTI founder Imran Khan, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz supreme leader, Nawaz Sharif, and Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari wanted to reach the corridors of power.
Pervez Khattak accused Imran Khan of wanting to grab power by creating anarchy in the country. “But the Pakistan Army strategy failed him,” said the PTIP chief. He said PTIP had a vision and that was why people were joining his party in droves.Pervez Khattak asked the people to vote for the PTI candidates in the general elections to elect those who could lead them on the road to progress.
