Lifetime disqualification: SC decision to benefit 100 parliamentarians: Tarar
HAFIZABAD: Former federal law minister Azam Nazir Tarar Wednesday expressed optimism that the lifetime disqualification case in the Supreme Court would bring relief to as many as 100 parliamentarians.
Addressing a function in Jaidke village here, he said it was totally wrong to assume that the trial bench was constituted only to hear disqualification of PMLN Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
“It is a good decision of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa to hear lifetime disqualification of candidates, while new comers could also get benefit”.
Tarar said complete level playing field was provided to PTI, as it was getting relief from courts.
Talking to the media, he said they did not believe in politics of revenge but what was done to a majority party in the general election of 2018 was known to the people.
He said Mian Shahbaz Sharif rid the country of debt that had accumulated due to the incompetence of the then PTI government.
Speaking on the occasion, ex-federal minister Saira Afzal Tarar, a candidate for NA-67, said by the grace of Almighty Allah, the PMLN would succeed in the general election by majority.
