Minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan, says governor

LAHORE:Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman attended a function organised in connection with the Quaid Day at the Governor’s House as the chief guest on Friday.

Addressing the ceremony, the governor said that Quaid-e-Azam was a determined and courageous person. We are living in an independent country as a result of Quaid’s unflinching determination, leadership, and peaceful struggle, he said.

He said that the white colour in the Pakistani flag represents the minorities and the minorities have equal rights in Pakistan, adding that our religion has laid great emphasis on the protection of the rights of the minorities.

The governor said that the challenges faced by the country can be overcome only by promoting unity, tolerance and brotherhood. He said that atrocities on innocent citizens, women, and children in Palestine are shameful, and all the countries of the world should raise their voice against it. He said that Kashmiri people are also being subjected to violence and the international community should play its role in ending tyranny in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

On this occasion, a speech competition was also held among the students of various universities regarding the Quaid Day. The Punjab Governor distributed shields and certificates of appreciation among the students who took top positions in speech contest.

Begum Governor Ayesha Baligh, PU VC Dr Khalid Mehmood, GCU VC Prof Dr Ahmed Adnan, Pro Rector Superior University Prof Dr M Nizamuddin and a large number of students from various universities were present in the ceremony.

Under-training officers visit PSCA

The delegation of under-training NH&MP officers at National Highway & Motorway Police College, Sheikhupura, accompanied by faculty members, made a study visit to the Punjab Safe Cities Authority. During the visit, Safe City officers provided a detailed briefing on the authority’s operations and workings of different departments. The officers received a comprehensive overview of the intelligent traffic management system, artificial intelligence, and modern communication systems. They were also introduced to the e-challan system, the modern forensic evidence system, and the importance of evidence in investigations.
