WANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Imran Mukhlis Wazir said on Wednesday that fair elections were necessary to steer the country out of the prevailing crisis.
In a statement, he said that a nation lacking political consciousness and the ability to effect change receives no divine assistance.
“The power of the thumb holds great significance on election day. The candidate endorsed by the voters with their thumbs on the ballot will emerge victorious. We aspire for a clean election, rejecting any notion of selection.”
Wazir praised the late PPP leader Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto as a prominent Asian leader who faced the gallows without succumbing to dictatorship.
