BoG chairman, members receive briefing
PESHAWAR: The newly appointed chairman Board of Governors (BoG) of Khyber Teaching Hospital, Khyber Medical College and Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD) Dr Umar Ayub along with other members visited the hospital and were briefed about the institutions.
Other members of the BoG including Qari Abdur Rauf Madani, Mir Yaqub Khan, Dr Tahir Ali Khan, Gohar Zaman and two members of the previous board Barrister Waqar Ali Khan and Sabur Sethi who were retained also attended a ceremony where the hospital management briefed them about the institutions and facilities.
Dean Khyber Medical College Prof. Dr. Mahmud Aurangzeb, Dean of Khyber College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Syed Nasir Shah, Hospital Director KTH Dr. Muhammad Zafar Afridi, Medical Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ayaz Khan, Director Finance Abdul Waheed and Director Nursing Asmat Pasha participated in the meeting with the BoG members.
Dr Umar Ayub emphasised the establishment of kidney and liver transplant facilities in Khyber Teaching Hospital as soon as possible.He visited 20 Modular Operation Theatre and directed the hospital administration to ensure the operation theatre as per international standards.
The BoG chairman directed the Medical director to improve and stabilise the institutional based practice i.e. IBP system to make sure that all the doctors who had opted for IBP to be present there.
Presently, the majority of the doctors of KTH have been attending their private clinics outside the hospital, mostly in the Dabgari Garden area of the city, as the previous board never took interest in the IBP. Also, most of the faculty members and other employees don’t follow the official duty guidelines and cos and leave as per their own choice
Dr Umar Ayub said that interventional cardiology and other departments including invasive services at gastroenterology, Interventional Cardiology services in the hospital, should be activated for patients as soon as possible.
