Never again
December 16 marks the anniversary of one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. On this day in 2014, around 131 school children and 10 others were martyred by armed terrorists at the Army Public School in Peshawar. Today, we pay tribute to those who lost their lives in this attack and to the brave army and police who continue to fight against terrorism.
After the incident, the National Action Plan was formulated in order to defeat terrorism in Pakistan and for a while it seemed as though the plan had achieved this aim. However, almost a decade later and terrorist attacks are on the rise once again. We need to take the strongest measures possible in order to combat this resurgence and ensure that there is no repeat of what happened nine years ago.
