Won’t form group in PTI: Akbar Babar
ISLAMABAD: PTI founder member Akbar S Babar has made it clear that he isn’t going to form a separate group in the party as it is already active and its strategy would be made public soon
In an interview, he announced convening a meeting of founder members of the party where the whole situation would be discussed and a strategy evolved. “Our joint strategy would be announced soon but we aren’t for division in the ranks and files of the party”, he said. He recalled that when the party was formed way back in 1996, he was made the founding president of the party for Balochistan.
He was in the committee that drafted the basic constitution of the part along with Hamid Khan, Mairaj Muhammad Khan, Fauzia Kasuri, Saeedullah Niazi and Arif Alvi. “The constitution was formed on the principals of democracy and it was provided in it that no one would become chairman of the party for more than wo terms,” said and recalled that a notification was present on the party website where it has been announced that the party’s core committee has designated Imran Khan chairman of the party for lifetime.
“It is not kingdom but a political party,” he said. He termed the recent intra-party elections drama of lawyers.
