Suspect held

A suspected street criminal was arrested in an injured condition after an alleged encounter with police in the Shershah area on Friday.

According to Shershah SHO Kamran Haider, police had received information about the presence of two suspicious persons in the Paracha graveyard. As police reached the spot, the suspects started firing at the personnel in an attempt to escape. In the retaliatory fire by police, one suspect was shot injured and taken into custody, while the other fled away.

The police officer said that the arrested suspect was identified as Zahid Hussain and a .30 bore pistol with bullets and a motorcycle was recovered from his possession.
