No let-up in smog situation
LAHORE:Air Quality Index (AQI) in the provincial capital continued to deteriorate and reached 291 here Monday.
Data released by EPD revealed that the AQI at 9am was 291 outside LCWU, Jail Road, at 12pm it was 227 at the same place, at 3pm it was 133 at the same place and 6pm it was 172 at the same place while at 4pm, it was 134 at Punjab University.
On the other hand, Met officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. They predicted that mainly dry weather was expected in most parts of the country, while cold in upper parts. They predicted that fog/smog was likely to develop in plain areas of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Monday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Leh and Skardu where it was -04°C, while in Lahore, it was 12°C and maximum was 26°C.
