TIMERGARA: Better late than never; it takes courage to stand up for one’s rights. Dilawar Khan, 65, a resident of Khungi village in Lower Dir district, stood up for his basic right to life and enrolled in Government Primary School Khungi.
“Dilawar Khan is a role model for people of all ages who want to learn. He is a dedicated student, as proven by his ability to read and write at a first-grade level,” said a teacher at the GPS, Khungi.
Dilawar Khan told this correspondent that since his childhood, it was his great desire to receive an education. However, due to the financial constraints of his poor family, his desire could not come true.
“It was my great desire to read, but our poverty did not allow me to enroll in a school. I worked for the entire duration of my youth to earn bread for my poor family. I am happy to have embarked on the path of learning now to fulfill my desire,” Dilawar told this correspondent, emphasising that there was no age restriction for learning.
